Game Description

In 9 Monkeys of Shaolin you can play online as a pirate for free, going through the co-op mode online with a friend. The story revolves around a Shaolin master named Wei Chen. The gameplay is represented by beat-em-up mechanics, referencing kung fu films of the 70s. The aesthetics are in the spirit of Medieval China. A single player campaign and online play for two people are available. Having set off on an adventure, you need to fight 5 enemy factions. One of the gangs is presented in each individual chapter. 5 enemy clans: Green - ragged pirates; Red - professional and deadly corsairs; Yellow - a well-trained ninja sect; White - the Shimazu samurai syndicate; Black - the ancient monks of Enryaku-ji.

Faction leaders wear Noh poppies, which feature a special grimace. Bosses are named after masks. There are 6 types of enemies in total: Thugs, Ashigaru, Ninja, Samurai, Ghosts and Sohei. The possibility of a free online game offers you to fight together with a partner with each of the presented opponents, combining blows and performing paired actions. The online game is entirely focused on interaction between participants.

At the end of each stage, experience points are awarded, which can be spent on improvements from the monk-trainer. A tree of techniques is presented, where each player chooses the path of development of their hero. When fighting, you can use several types of stances: basic, acrobatic and magical. Each of them changes the fighting style of the main character. A number of special techniques are available; however, they consume Chi energy. You can fight with weapons, shoes and rosaries. They can be picked up as you progress through the chapter. Weapons include various staves, spears, halberds, etc.
