Alone in the Dark Illumination is a multiplayer survival horror game that you can play online with a friend, fighting each other for free on a pirate ship or competing with other players online online. The action takes place in the town of Lorwich, Virginia. As a result of the disaster, the city was empty, and the evil living in the mines came out. Sarah Hartwood is a relative of Emily from previous games, fighting with a pistol and magical attacks; Gabriella Saunders - a new character who kills enemies with a pistol and a sawn-off shotgun; Father Henry is a priest with two twin guns that can be charged with electricity.

The gameplay is a shooting gallery for shooting numerous enemies. Evil spirits are very vulnerable to light and fire. There are bosses at the locations. Each of the three campaigns has 4 unique episodes. At the end of each scenario, an Obelisk appears. It produces huge hordes of enemies. The final boss is a powerful creature nicknamed Cthulhu.
