The plot of Aragami 2 begins 100 years after the end of the first part. The main character, hoping to protect the village from invaders, joins the Aragami clan and becomes a skilled killer. Members of this organization receive mystical shadow skills, but in return their minds and bodies begin to gradually be eroded by a supernatural disease. The warrior must free his relatives and find a way to defeat the curse. The sequel is noticeably different from the original. It featured a full-fledged combat game based on fencing and reminiscent of slasher films. It has auto-guidance, timing, and various strikes. Due to this, the gameplay also became more varied. Gamers can choose whether to go through locations quietly, eliminating individual enemies one by one if necessary, or create a loud massacre on the map. A hub and other changes have appeared. If the previous hero was afraid of the light and was limited in movement, then the new protagonist is able to go wherever he wants. The developers took away the ability to teleport to any point, but instead added a double jump.
