Game Description

Baby Steps puts players in the role of Nate, an unemployed man with no stated purpose. He discovers a previously unknown ability: the ability to consciously put one foot in front of the other. The gameplay is entirely focused on a physical walking simulation, where each step Nate takes is a separate action, controlled from a third person.

Controlling the character in the world of Baby Steps, constantly shrouded in fog, step by step, becomes the main task. This physical effort against the backdrop of landscapes directly reflects the hero’s internal attempt to find some meaning in a life that he considers wasted. The main goal is to climb one large mountain, a long hike that gamers complete relying on their own dexterity.

The world is populated by native fauna, and Nate has the opportunity to form relationships through a dating sim element that contains sexually explicit content. This journey is accompanied by a fully dynamic overall contamination system that visually tracks the condition of the hero’s clothing in response to his actions. The tone of this game oscillates between comedy, satire and moments of psychological horror, creating an extraordinary experience. Various hats can also be found during the climb, although these items are explicitly marked as non-collectibles.
