Game Description

BattleBlock Theater is a platformer with cartoon graphics and a side view. It has a simple plot, because it is far from the main one in this genre. The player takes on the role of a prisoner who goes through various levels of the theater with one goal - to save Hatty Hattington. The gameplay is not complicated at first glance: level progression is linear, jumps are simple and standard for the genre, and there are a couple of types of enemy attacks. The main feature is the dynamics and the ability to play together with a friend.

The locations themselves are created from blocks with different properties. There are both simple surfaces and sticky walls, disappearing or repulsive blocks, with spikes or water, and so on. Initially, two modes are available: “Adventure” and “Arena”. It is possible to download entire maps created by the gaming community with various tasks in their territories.

Throughout the story you will go through several chapters, divided into levels. To open the next episode, you need to collect a sufficient number of gems - jewelry, and fight the boss. Another currency will be yarn. Cats who are guards will sell you weapons for them. The gameplay is based on mutual assistance with artificial intelligence or another player. Only teamwork will help you quickly complete each level within the allotted time. If you invest in the timer, you will receive a special A++ mark and additional gems. The “Arena” is a location for 2-4 gamers who will participate in certain mini-toys to gain points. The one who collects them the most wins. You can team up in pairs and play in the team competition.
