In Battlefield 2142 you can play online with a friend, competing for free as a pirate in various multiplayer modes. You can play online online or fight locally. Events take place in the distant future. At the center of the conflict are 2 large blocs: the European Union and the Pan-Asian Coalition. The latter includes Russia, Korea, Mongolia and Japan. Multiplayer allows you to play through 2 full-fledged campaigns.

The first takes place in October 2139, and the second takes place in 2142. Each storyline invites you to fight for one of the sides in the conflict. Factions have their own unique features, units and battle tactics. The possibility of free online play in Battlefield 2142 allows you to fight in multiplayer for each opposing side. The competitive mode is based on capture the flags, deathmatch and other multiplayer confrontations, which also include Conquest, Assault and Titan. The latter allows you to take part in battles where there are huge mechs that are a mixture of an air battleship, a landing ship and a carrier-based aircraft carrier.

Using 50 types of weapons, you need to kill enemies to receive ranks. In total you can get 43 titles. Both firearms and equipment are available: machine guns, anti-tank rocket launchers, man-portable anti-aircraft missile systems, tanks, light jeeps, attack and transport aircraft, armored personnel carriers, etc. Soldiers are divided into 4 classes: Sniper-saboteur, Stormtrooper, Engineer and Support fighter. Each class uses unique weapons, has unique abilities and conducts individual battle tactics. Heroes can board vehicles of their own faction or the enemy.
