The action takes place 35 years after the heroic Gyre defeated the Sorcerer Lord in the cavernous depths under the living castle Shadowgate. During this period, the kingdom of Kal Torlin flourished, and the exciting stories of the Twilight Gate sank into oblivion. However, the peaceful era is about to be shattered when evil forces begin to rage, plotting the destruction of the world. Gamers find themselves in the shoes of Del Thornburrow, a humble fenling captured in the dungeons of Gwynenthell, the capital of Kal Torlin. Despite his habit of confinement, Del is soon freed from the dangers of the dungeon and embarks on an adventure that tests his limits.
