The pirate version of Beyond: Two Souls provides the opportunity to play online with a friend for free. Participants take on the role of the girl Jodie and the ghost Aiden. To go through the story together, you need to connect online via the Internet or play in local co-op. The gameplay of Beyond: Two Souls is an interactive adventure where you need to explore locations, interact with objects, communicate with NPCs and solve spatial puzzles. Free online play allows you to solve puzzles with the help of a partner. One player controls the main character, and the second comes in when the girl enters the astral plane.

By controlling an incorporeal entity, you can pass through walls and interact with objects that the human eye cannot see. Beyond: Two Souls allows you to switch between Ghost and Jodie at any time. During dialogues you are required to choose an answer. Depending on the choice, some story scenes and the ending change. As the adventure progresses, the protagonist finds herself in a variety of stories and situations. There are QTEs during chases and hand-to-hand combat. You must press the appropriate button in time.

Some episodes feature stealth mechanics. You will need to coordinate actions together with Aiden. The online game is aimed at constant interaction between the characters and does not let anyone get bored. When playing as Aiden, the world is presented in monochrome, highlighting interactive objects in different colors, be it red, orange, green or blue. The spirit is able to transfer supernatural abilities to Jodie, for example, a protective shell, transference of consciousness, seeing the future, etc.
