Game Description
BodyRecords presents gameplay primarily through a body camera view. Microphones directly impact the digital environment; Sounds made by players, including speech, may attract the attention of entities. Participants move through specific locations in search of specific data. This information is necessary to determine and provide an exit route. Successful progression relies heavily on group coordination, especially when solving integrated puzzles encountered during exploration. This element of cooperation is a necessity for players seeking to overcome the challenges presented together.
The project continually uses body camera views for interaction. Additionally, microphone sensitivity introduces a dynamic in which careful manipulation of sound becomes relevant as certain creatures are programmed to respond to auditory cues. Puzzle elements are intertwined with the game’s exploration aspects, requiring observation and interaction. Team play is structured as a core requirement, encouraging users to collaborate effectively to overcome various obstacles.
Elimination of a participant does not mean the final end of participation in the session. Instead, defeated gamers are transported to a separate area designated as the Backrooms. Within this separate dimension, there is a mechanism that offers players the chance to return and rejoin their active teammates. The main goal remains collective exploration, solving problems and ensuring escape, while revealing details related to the surrounding space. Players work together to find out local information.
