Game Description
Cal and Bomba is an adventure game where you solve puzzles by programming a sequence of actions to destroy your enemies. Players will have to use logic and mathematics to defeat their opponents on the battlefield. Each mission offers a set of special tiles with actions that must be placed in a specific sequence to achieve the goal. A key mechanic is the use of percentage calculations to fine-tune the gun’s firing range, turning abstract mathematical concepts into a visual and interactive process.
The journey takes place in various worlds where a pyromaniac dwarf named Kal and his wife, the troll Bomb, travel on their cannon cart. Their main task is to blow up everything in their path and crush the evil Beholder. The Cal and Bomba project offers more than 170 unique levels, divided into three thematic worlds and a prologue. The developers have provided two difficulty levels, making the puzzles interesting to both beginners and experienced strategists. The title won awards for its innovative approach to learning, successfully combining gameplay with pedagogy.
Instead of directly controlling characters, gameplay focuses on planning ahead. It is necessary to build chains of commands in order not only to eliminate enemies, but also to pit them against each other, causing large-scale chain reactions. Some opponents are able to move around the arena between rounds, forcing you to constantly adapt your tactics. Successful completion depends on the ability to foresee the consequences of your mathematical and strategic decisions, watching how the compiled algorithm is brought to life, leading to chaos and explosions on the screen.
