This project invites you to take part in new campaigns showing different periods of the Second World War. Here, the developers introduced the Soviet faction, adding a number of operations with its participation. This involves the use of unique infantry and equipment units that are exclusive to that side. In addition to a single playthrough, gamers can get the experience of playing together by recreating the level on a server via the Internet online.

The mechanics of unit control and the system for issuing orders in Company of Heroes Eastern Front are fully consistent with the original project. As before, there is a detachment of fighters at disposal, who, accompanied by equipment (in some cases), must complete a specific task - capture the territory and hold it until reinforcements arrive, or destroy all enemy formations in the territory. At the same time, the starting team can be divided into groups and ordered to attack from different sides. Thus, you can take the enemy by surprise and provide cover without fear of coming under fire from an awkward position. The map in the lower left corner shows the location of key objects that need to be captured or those that are available for interaction. The ability to play freely online allows you to track the performance of each unit, including durability (for vehicles) and health reserves (for infantry). Everything happens in real time, so in emergency cases decisions need to be made instantly. The online game throws players into vast locations, where sometimes it is necessary to build fortifications and carry out lengthy operations. Therefore, you should use all available strategic thinking skills and outsmart your opponent.
