Defensurvivor puts a player at the head of the protection of asylum in the world captured by zombies. The main goal is to hold out for 15 minutes against the continuous waves of attackers, managing defense and staff. Gamers erect and modernize the walls through the construction menu, creating barriers to the direction of movement of the approaching horde. Success requires adaptation to the fighters accidentally issued for each session. Specialists deployed on the field are the main means of eliminating the threat.

Personnel management is central mechanics in Defensurvivor. The liquidation of opponents brings currency spent on recruiting new individuals. The existing fighters can be combined by means of synthesis function for obtaining characters of a higher rank with other tactical capabilities. This project contains several classes of specialists, each with special specializations and parameters. The key element of the gameplay is the selection and formation of synergistic detachments to confront the growing danger and their relocation if necessary.

Resource production is involved in several game mechanics. The destruction of specific bosses gives the currency necessary for the process of synthesis of characters and subsequent improvements. A transport plane runs off the zone periodically flies, dumping sunshine boxes. In these containers there are artifacts that give passive bonuses, or immediate reinforcement in the form of additional people. The gamer place all the new fighters, dragging their cards from the interface to the desired point on the map.
