Game Description
Dimwood is a card roguelike that takes you on a journey through the dark forest of the same name, where the main goal is to defeat the powerful Beast that lives in the thicket. The visual execution of the project is made in minimalistic 1-bit pixel graphics, creating a special atmosphere. Each enemy encounter is a tactical puzzle, the outcome of which depends on the careful use of cards with modal effects that change depending on the level of light.
The central element of the mechanics are cards, consisting of special elements called pips. These elements determine what the card does: deal damage, increase defense, or even change the properties of other cards in your hand. Gameplay Dimwood offers a deep deck customization system, allowing you to move, invert and transform pips, thereby completely changing the functionality of the cards. Three unique archetypes with their own deck building styles are available for playthrough: Pathfinder, Tactician and Druid.
As you move deeper into the strange, colorless forest, you will have to fight over 30 types of enemies and fill out the in-game bestiary. There are over 400 different cards and a dozen artifacts available for discovery that can radically change the course of the battle. After defeating the final boss, you gain access to 20 difficulty levels, adding additional modifiers to the passage and increasing the replayability of this strategic adventure.
