In Drop Duchy, the arrangement of tiles involves a reflection that goes beyond the simple compilation of rows. Elements have forms and types, interacting with the environment for provisions or detachments according to the rules of neighborhood with forests or rivers. An increase in the production of materials and hiring fighters depends on the location of buildings next to the specific features of the area. Although the creation of lines provides some bonuses, the key goal is to effective accumulation of reserves for the gradual formation of the army and the defense of the castle building.
Players choose routes through the regions, collect detachments and fight enemy forces to return control of the lands. The strategic placement of troops is aimed at achieving a numerical advantage over opponents in contractions. Obtaining damage in the castle means the failure of the current visit. Accordingly, the protection of this structure remains a constant priority throughout the party. Successful battles allow the troops to move along the extensive paths leading to the final clash of the enemy citadel.
