In addition to the dynamic and driving single-player mod, Duke Nukem Forever allows you to play online with a friend on a pirate in multiplayer. Here, as in other projects in the series, the main character is Duke Nukem. This is a brutal man with a cigar in his mouth, who can easily stand up to a crowd of alien creatures without fear of getting his hands dirty. And here he will once again have to deal with similar matters, because the fate of the whole world is at stake. Alien invaders want to take over the Earth, and the player’s job is to stop them from doing so. But now you can not limit yourself to a single-player campaign, but compete with friends or random players online online.

Gameplay-wise, the Duke Nukem Forever project is a classic shooter with a linear plot. Each level provides different tasks and even changes the order of actions required to complete the goal, but each segment does not contain any third-party activities. Sometimes there are interactive moments like a game of billiards, shooting at a shooting range, lifting something heavy in the gym, and so on. But this only takes a few seconds, after which the gamer returns to shooting hostile creatures. As you progress, the system will open up access to new types of weapons, but at the same time the level of opponents you will have to fight will increase. Boss battles are especially notable, where you need to gradually knock out health from creatures while dodging their attacks.

As for the multiplayer mode, the network game offers participation in battles on specially designated maps. Some of them partially resemble the locations of the story campaign, but others are completely unique. Each fight is timed, and when it comes to an end, the winner is determined. The possibility of free online play allows you to track statistics during each battle, so each participant in the battle will understand what position he is in.
