The story begins with the fact that Elijah, a simple person working in a local grocery store, is attacked by an alien creature after the end of his shift. Waking up, he sees that his hometown in chaos. The military blocked the territory, and to explain the situation they come up with a bizarre legend about the spill of chemicals. Everyone who is trying to escape is shot on the spot, leaving people in the city.

When Elijah is guided by this dangerous new reality, he discovers a terrible transformation of the population. Mutants - once ordinary citizens - now roam the streets, attacking everyone who crosses their path. Elijah has a personal loss when he finds out that his brother has already become a victim of a flash of mutants. Having decided to survive, Elijah goes to explore the altered city, determined to reveal the truth behind the attacks of the aliens and sinister events unfolding in Cleveland.
