Ells Tales: Chairbound begins with the awakening of a character tied to an office chair in an empty room. A strange device with a 10-minute timer is attached to it, steadily counting time. The player’s main task is a desperate search for a way out of a closed corporate building. Movement is achieved by repulsion from surfaces - a method dictated by the physics of finding furniture with wheels, and the main difficulty is to maintain equilibrium. The entire script takes place in the first person, completely immersing in a dangerous situation.

The main gameplay in Ells Tales: Chairbound is built around a detailed physical simulation of a movable seat. Moving along the surreal, limit floors of the gloomy structure requires careful control over inertia in order to avoid falling. This title complicates the game with the separate control of each hand of the protagonist used to interact with the environment. Such a mechanic brings an element of intentional awkwardness to all actions, from manipulations with doors to repulsion from the walls, increasing the feeling of vulnerability.

The study of the desert spaces of the building is a key component, because each floor offers new puzzles and obstacles. All experience is presented in retro -stic - a distinctive line of the series. This atmospheric project combines a psychological horror with elements of the race for a while, and the return counting creates constant stress. Success depends on the development of unique movements and interaction systems to solve the riddles of the building before the timer expiration, making every second critical for survival in this claustophobic game world.
