Game Description

Half-Life (1998) - sci-fi shooter. One of the first games where the plot was completely presented using cutscenes in the engine. One of the main features of Half-Life was the artificial intelligence of enemies, which was striking in its elaboration. The story of Half-Life begins at the Black Mesa research facility in the mountains of New Mexico.

Control takes place for the young physicist Gordon Freeman, who is researching anomalous materials. The game consists of 19 chapters. The hero will receive a protective H.E.V. suit, allowing him to navigate the most dangerous and irradiated areas of the complex. In one of the scientific experiments, an accident occurred, as a result of which a crystal under the beam of an anti-mass spectrometer caused such an unusual phenomenon as cascade resonance.

While fighting an unknown entity, Freeman will fight back against such unusual monsters as Headcrabs, Gargantuas, Bullsquids, Ichthyosaurs, Snarks and many others. The movement itself through the missions is carried out along linear corridors, conditionally separated by maps. All chapters are numbered and contain titles such as Black Mesa Inbound, Anomalous Materials, Lambda Core, etc. Half-Life features interactivity, allowing you to move and break boxes and solve a variety of environmental puzzles.

The main weapon is a crowbar, but in addition the arsenal includes a machine gun and a tank. There is a trolley as a means of transport. Some levels, such as Zen, contain jump puzzles where you need to jump on platforms with reduced gravity.
