Hot Lap Racing is a racing game in the simcade genre. Here you can play online, participating in an online game, and plunge into the history of motorsport, from GT to Formula 1. Compete with a friend online or for free on a pirate, fighting for the championship title.

The game uses its own physics engine. Players explore the history of motorsports by racing against friends or opponents online. The game has over fifteen licensed and custom tracks with over seventy layout options. Zolder, Salzburgring, Kuwait Motor Town top the list of tracks. The diverse list of cars covers all classes and eras of motorsport. The garage ranges from Formula 1 cars from the sixties to modern endurance cars. They are joined by the Peugeot 9X8, Alpine A110 GT4, Alfa Romeo 155 DTM, Brabham BT24 and Formula Extreme. Players fight against real motorsport champions.

There are several game modes. In Career mode, you start as a young racer aiming for the top of motorsport. Players master cars, tracks and compete with legendary racers. Hot Lap mode aims to improve lap times. The game has categories for endurance, single, GT, electric and stock. Players train in each class, learning eras and classes. Camera angles can be different: rear, distant, view of the hood, bumper and cockpit. Online and offline multiplayer supports up to four local and twelve online players.
