Metavoidal puts the player in the role of the drummer after an unsuccessful listening in the metal group. The musician discovers that the work of the team controls reality, turning the world into a hostile environment. The army of defiled fans is now standing on the way to freedom, imposing the will of its idols. To destroy this curse, the drummer will repulse each participant in the ominous team, using only a couple of drum sticks. This path requires to move through the church, flooded by their followers and other horrors.

The task is to turn the music of the team against themselves, collecting lost plates scattered for each location. At the end of the level, the player absorbs power from these artifacts and offers a choice of 3 compositions. In Metavoidal, each solution adds the ability to a personal playlist, endowing the drum sticks with the effects of fire or lightning. Players form this set of skills during each attempt, combining track elements to create unique combat approaches. This system allows you to use various tactics for repeated races in the local places.

Armed with a growing playlist, the protagonist breaks through the desecrated catacombs and church halls. This gameplay is not based on rhythm; This is a direct combat clash with the use of drum sticks as the main weapon. At the end of each zone, one of the musicians calls to a duel. Each artist, from the keyboard player to the guitarist, will offer a unique duel with his set of skills, and the main character needs to overcome them in order to continue the path. Having struck all opponents, you can gain freedom.
