Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero introduces Marona, a young girl with the ability to communicate with the spirits of the departed. She travels through the oceanic game world of Ivoire with the ghost Ash, assisting residents along the way. Their travels are interrupted by an attack by a fleet of ghost ships, leading to Marona’s separation from Ash. This event kicks off her campaign against the sea aggressors.
In Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero, Marona forms an alliance with new companion Apricot after an encounter with the Phantom Fleet. Their overall mission shifts to finding the legendary team that previously defeated these spectral foes. Players direct units in the battles of this strategy RPG using the Confine system; This mechanic summons recruited ghostly allies by binding their essences to physical objects on the location. The title’s environments use gridless maps, making it easier to place squads with free movement across the terrain in turn-based encounters.
You will have to form your combat squad, choosing from more than 50 different types of creatures available for hire. The Confine mechanic directly affects the spirit’s performance in battle, which changes depending on the specific item its essence occupies on the battlefield. Ghostly entities can also combine with special gadgets to gain access to attacks with slow execution but significant impact. In addition, Marona is able to directly merge with spirits through the Confriend process, which changes her appearance and unlocks special moves for use in battle.
