Game Description
Rayz Arcade Chronology is a collection that invites you to immerse yourself in the digital space, where the Waverider manned fighter is presented as a virus, whose main task is to penetrate deep into the system. The mission, known as Operation RayCrisis, is to fight against the self-aware neurocomputer Con-Human who has rebelled against humanity.
Advancement through levels is associated with a unique Encroachment mechanic: if you do not destroy enemies quickly enough, a special meter is filled, and when 100% is reached, you are forced to move to the final clash, which directly affects the outcome of the entire operation. The basis of the combat system of the entire trilogy is the division of the playing field into two planes. Standard weapons are used to engage targets on the same level as the ship, while a homing laser is used for enemies in the background or on the ground.
This concept was laid down in the very first part of the series, RayForce, which was made in two-dimensional sprite graphics. Subsequent projects, including RayStorm, took this idea into 3D polygonal environments, developing and improving it. The Ray’z Arcade Chronology collection features both the original arcade versions and updated HD remasters of later releases. Modern re-releases of RayStorm NEO-HD and RayCrisis HD feature increased resolution, which gives ship models and environments greater clarity.
