The confrontation is between the troops of the South and the North. All factions in Rising Storm 2: Vietnam fight with unique weapons. Southerners are united by the armies of the United States, Australia and the ARV. They use air artillery, gunship Spooky, burn territories with napalm, bombard territories with Canberra, etc. They also have at their disposal weapons such as the M1 Garand, M2 carbine, M3 Grizgan, etc.

The northerners are represented by the union of the VNA and the National Front of South Ossetia (VK). They use surface-to-air missiles and place mortars and grenade launchers throughout the territory. White phosphorus is also dispersed. Commanders are able to deploy rebirth tunnels on the battlefield. Support is provided by SA-2 missiles. The Viet Cong fight with AK-47 and Type 56 assault rifles, Mosin 91/30 and SVD rifles, DP-28, RPD light machine guns, etc. Each fighter can be customized individually.
