Game Description
Roots of Yggdrasil is a roguelike city-building adventure set in a post-Ragnarok world. Players take on the role of Sunna, a Viking leader, and her tribe who must rebuild their society amidst the shattered World Tree. In the title you need to build settlements, explore the Nine Kingdoms and collect artifacts. Each run is a race against time to escape Ginnungagap, the void that threatens to swallow everything.
The project features procedurally generated islands, encounters and events, ensuring that no two expeditions are the same. Gamers can customize their home base, known as Holt, which serves as the main hub. Here they can unlock new mechanics and permanent improvements that will help rebuild their tribe. There’s also a variety of characters, each bringing unique playstyles, bonuses, and modifiers to each loop.
Before each launch, users can add and remove building cards from their deck, creating different challenges and opportunities. The goal is to reach the top of Yggdrasil, overcoming new dangers and surviving in a destroyed world. Roots of Yggdrasil offers a unique combination of strategy and exploration, making every playthrough a new experience. The game emphasizes resource management, time management and strategic planning, resulting in rich and engaging gameplay.
