Game Description

Ruffy and the Riverside is a game where the player character uses an ability called SWAP to change the environment. This power allows you to directly copy and overlay textures, which changes the properties of objects and surfaces. The gamer can turn ice into lava, transform waterfalls into vines, or make wood from stone to build a boat. Raffi uses this skill to navigate locations, solve spatial puzzles and clear paths, turning solid walls into ruins.

This mechanic is also used in battles and for movement, for example, when rolling on haystacks. The main plot in Ruffy and the Riverside is about confronting the antagonist Groll, who is trying to destroy the World Core. As the protagonist travels through Riverside, he meets more than a dozen quest-giving characters, including companions like Pip the bee, Sir Eddler the mole, and Silla the turtle. The world of the project contains seven separate regions that are to be discovered and explored.

Activities are not limited to the main storyline and include side missions, challenges, riding on secret rails and facing sharks with the Fish Gang. Gameplay switches between 3D exploration and individual 2D levels. These 2D zones shift the focus to platforming elements and treasure collection, requiring the use of SWAP to manipulate barriers and get through certain obstacles. Throughout the adventure, users collect a variety of items, such as butterflies, coins and local Etoi creatures, which help in the passage.
