Game Description
SANAE’s sylphid breeze is a 2D action platformer starring SANAE KOTHIYA from Touhou Project. The plot begins after an attack by an unknown person on Lady Kanako, the goddess of the Moriya Temple. In addition to this, the symbolic pillar of the shrine, the Onbashira, was stolen by the attacker. Suspects include the thief Marisa, business rivals from the Myouren Temple, and a certain Celestial. Sanae’s path is to investigate these clues to find the culprit and return the stolen artifact.
The key mechanic of SANAE’s sylphid breeze is the SPELL SPOILER ability, which allows the heroine to absorb enemies. Having absorbed the enemy, Sanae takes on his unique skill and turns into him, gaining new opportunities to interact with the game world and other opponents. In addition to this central ability, the character moves around GENSOKYO locations using dash, jump and slide. She is also capable of summoning wind to levitate over chasms or to reach high ledges that are otherwise inaccessible.
The game also includes alternate modes. One of the sections is the TENGU RUMEI RACE competition, a time trial along a mountain path against the character MARISA. At certain points, opponents challenge Sanae to a dogfight, which switches the gameplay to shooter combat. During these battles, she can freely move in any direction, fire bursts of OFUDA projectiles, and deliver a crushing blow using the power of KANAKO. The entire story of this project is complemented by fully voiced character dialogues.
