The basis of the gameplay of Synthetic are the mechanics of games from the early 90s, but the developers significantly expand the functionality of the adventure, adjusting it to modern standards. Levels are randomly generated, offering a huge number of tests, competitions, boss battles, etc. The arsenal of weapons contains dozens of types of guns, auxiliary equipment, upgrade modules and much more. Each gun has recoil, so many physical parameters must be taken into account when passing through. In total, there are 85 types of weapons and 125 types of items to collect.

There is a mechanic of permanent death. Rise of the Legion is the first major addition to the game. The events begin in 1985, when the Kaida Corporation achieves incredible success in the field of robotics, which causes the Heart of Armageddon disaster.
