Tall Trails gives control of the Alps, a little goal in search of its purpose. The movement is tied on a rocket boot - a device that consumes collected items as a fuel for flights. The gamer has to run and climb the world using a boot for a vertical rise. Each item gives a unique effect, changing the method of navigation of the character among obstacles. This mechanic is central to research in this game and requires a constant collection of resources.

The world of Tall Trails consists of 5 different biomes, each of which represents new methods of movement and discoveries. The tasks include conquering the mountains, assistance to the inhabitants of the camp and the search for treasures. The fuel system based on objects offers various possibilities: acute pepper activates the effect of a reactive satchel, and the turntables allow you to steam. In another example, spiders can be used as a fuel source to create a web that allows you to fly through the abyss and adding a separate version of movement.

The development of the character includes the search and improvement of badges that directly enhance the platform abilities. You can also collect hats to change the appearance of the protagonist. Passing the main storyline takes about 4 hours. After its completion, the game offers a continuation of the procedurally generated worlds, creating new islands for study. These new locations allow you to further use key mechanics of movement and exterior settings without a specific ending.
