Unlockers starts with a boy named Noah, an orphan waking up in a locked bedroom resembling a hotel room. In the door he found, there is no keyhole, creating an immediate obstacle. When studying the room, a sudden attack of dizziness makes him lose consciousness. Waking up, he finds an unfamiliar notebook and a locked box, deepening the secret of his conclusion in a strange complex where he is held.
The note introduces a girl named Sally, who has supernatural abilities and directly communicating with the protagonist. In the Unlockers project, Sally explains the possibility of instilling in the body of Noah, forming a partnership necessary for survival. It reveals critical information: the complex in which they are kept conducts studies of the paranormal forces of a person. Noah should become a subject in these experiments, which sets them an urgent task of running from this place.
The gameplay is from the first person, placing a gamer directly in the situation of Noah. Promotion in the plot includes a study of the environment to search for objects and documents instrumental for solving the presented puzzles. Any player can come to one of several endings depending on his actions and decisions during a single adventure. For the moments when the promotion comes into a dead end, the function of the hint is available in the pause menu.
