Players have to accept the command of one of the 9 factions, from the technological tau and the mysterious Eldar to the ruthless forces of Chaos, and lead them in cruel conflicts on more than 100 cards. This publication contains four full -fledged campaigns offering both linear plots and nonlinear conquests of entire planetary systems.

The gameplay is focused on the construction of bases and army management in large -scale battles for control over strategic points and powerful combat vehicles, where the defeat leads to complete destruction. Most of the innovations in Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Definitive Edition is aimed at technical modernization. The game has been transferred to a 64-bit platform, providing stability and support for current systems. The visual component was redesigned: lighting on the basis of images, improved reflections on units, glossy surfaces and more detailed shadows appeared.

The textures of all combat units were scaled with a four -time increase in resolution.
