Wayward is an open-world survival game that you can play for free online as a pirate with a friend or players from all over the world. Locally or online, you need to go explore vast territories to find treasures. Online play allows you to compete and play cooperatively. Game mechanics include turn-based battles and roguelike elements.

Wayward’s gameplay is based on exploration and survival. You can travel to 4 different continents. There are no classes or levels. You will need to upgrade your heroes using items and other found objects. The environment is generated randomly. The ability to play free online games allows you to jointly manage resources and share inventory. The mechanics are inspired by projects such as UnReal World, Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead and Dwarf Fortress. Heroes can be customized according to your preferences.

There are over 630 items available to collect. With their help, you can craft useful things that will help in your adventure. There are more than 25 skills that allow you to create your own unique character build. You will have to fight with 50 types of creatures and animals. Some of them can be tamed. The multiplayer mode includes PvP matches in which players can test their strength. The single player campaign features over 25 hours of gameplay. In total there are more than 45 stages to be overcome. There are several additional modes: hardcore, represented by permanent death, and random, which includes random generation of biomes, enemies and items.
